Golden Days Part 3 was the Rubber Duck race. They let 6,000, yes you read that right, 6,000 rubber ducks out of a big net all at the same time. Each one has a number on it that coordinates with a ticket. They are let go on one end of town off a bridge and then they are to ride the current and travel down into the center of Fairbanks where they pick them all back up out of the water and those that got to the finished line first wins some really big prizes. They sell the tickets from $5-$10. It was sure something to see all of those yellow ducks coming down the river and around the bend etc. Some people where trying to wade into the river and snatch up a duck to keep. We ate hot dogs while we watched and waited for the ducks to come. The kids loved it once the ducks were in sight.
