I am so thankful that Shari was here with me, she hurried and called Kenn back from class, and I called the drs office. They said call 911. We did and soon the Fire Dept, Ambulance and Police were all here. Javin refused to look at his arm because he thought he was turning into an alien. Kenn assured his he wasn't but he didn't believe him. After the Firefighters were done checking him out and somewhat bracing his arm, the EMTs took control and loaded him up in the ambulance and I road with him as Kenn followed behind, the one time he got to be an ambulance chaser!

Javin kept falling asleep on the 30 min ride there. Between the EMT and I we had to keep nudging him to make sure he was alright. I am sure it was the adrenaline rush etc. that exhausted him. Once we got to Memorial Hospital they took us to the Pediatric ER. Poor Javin actually handled things pretty well. He was full of questions and wanting to know how, what why and when they would be doing stuff to him. The nurses were so good with him. They answered all his questions and tried to make him comfortable. One nurse even raided their toy closet. He got a mini-connect4 game, a dino pack including a mug, a dart game etc. He was even able to play all them with his one good hand, which thank goodness is his right hand, he is right handed. They had to sedate him to straighten up his arm. He ended up breaking both bones in his left arm a couple inches above his wrist. He did NOT enjoy coming out of sedation and not knowing what was going on. The ER doctor set it and then just braced it. We had to go into an orthopedic surgeon on Friday.

Dr Jenkins told us that the ER doctor had done as good of a job as he himself could have done. I was so surprised at how straight they were able to get it. He was very blessed. Javin chose a purple cast that he will be wearing for the next 4-6 weeks. They think because he is so young he will heal in 3-4 weeks. We will go tomorrow the 14th to have it x-rayed and see how he is healing.

I can see why you almost passed out! Poor kid. Glad things are better! Love you guys!
Bless his heart - poor Javin. You are a good mom to take care of things so well. His arm looked like Harry Potters in the Chamber of Secrets when that one professor removes all the bones. By the look of the xray, it could have been so much worse with surgery and pins and stuff...
Will you get rid of the trampoline?
WOW! I would have freaked out. I had a hard enough time handling my dogs eye being ripped out of its socket. Javin is very brave! You are such a trooper. I thought the same thing Jessica did about his arm looking like Harry Potters! Good luck with the cast experience. I hope he makes a full recovery and soon.
