PRETTIEST SMILE
Every year here in Savannah they have the Little Miss St. Patrick's Day Pageant for girls 0-17. I have always said if I had a girl and still lived here I would want to put her in it. Well this year with us moving and we actually have a girl I did just that! I entered Kierra into the pageant. Her age category was the Babies 0-18 months. This years pageant fell on Kenn's birthday Saturday March 7th so what a fun birthday activity right! We all thought so. We got Kierra a cute dress from Dillard's and a new pair of shoes to go with it. I went to a few stores and Dillard's had the best veriety of dresses. It was so fun because we were the only ones in the dressing room and Kierra would prance around from one dressing room to the next just to look at herself in all the mirrors. When it was time to take one pretty dress off she would through a fit because she didn't want it off. As soon as a new one was on she would go right back to prancing around again. She is going to be such a girly girl!
I am excited that she has enough hair to actually do stuff to and make pretty so I was able to attach some pearl beads to some hair bands and use them to accessorize her hair style I did. It worked out really well and we got so many compliments on her hair. Many also asked how I got her to stay still while I did her hair. The answer is I do her hair every morning when we get her dressed she is used to me sitting her on the bathroom counter or my bed while I comb and put it up in ponytails or whatever. This particular style I did 10 little ponytails but started with one and worked back into a pyramid on top of her head. It really looked great especially with the pearl accents.

I also made her a bracelet the night before since we couldn't find the one I had already made for her that was all pink and white pearls she had somehow lost a few days before. I found it in the couch cushion on Sunday the day after the pageant. But it worked out fine. She loves her bracelets and this one fits perfectly and isn't too big so it stays on very well. She doesn't like me taking her bracelets off actually, so it is a good thing this one fits well.
Thanks to Lisa Brown in my ward she helped take a few photos of her that I actually used to enter for the Photogenic part of the pageant. They turned out so cute and Kierra did so good! Now if she could just hold still for Mom to take her photos at home!
We got to the Pageant at 8:30 and were done by 11:30. Check in was at 8:30-9:30. Judging of the photos was at 9:30 and then the babies were first. We checked in and got our number which was #1. I was surprised! We would be the first to enter the stage! I was hoping since this was our first time I could watch others then do what they did but nope! We waited behind the stage with the other 22 babies till they came and lined us up. We all went out together and lined up on stage then they took us back to the back of the stage for each one of us to come out one by one. Kierra apparently was able to see her brothers and dad out there cheering her on because she started clapping and blowing kisses and showing her personality. It was so cute. It actually ended up nice to be the first ones on stage and done so we could wait till crowning in the room and not on the hot stage!

They did the Baby category and then the Toddlers then we all went out for judging of the Babies. They lined us all up again and Kierra was awarded and given a banner for Prettiest Smile and then a trophy too. They gave out banners and trophies for Prettiest Hair, Eyes, Smile and Best Personality. Then the over all runners up and crown.

It was a fun time and I am glad we did it. I was shocked to see there are REAL "PAGEANT MOMS" out there even for the babies! The winner had a hair piece, caked on makeup, and the $400 dress! Holy cow! On a 17 month old!
We would do it again and it was a lot of fun.
P.S. Daddy HAPPY 31st BIRTHDAY! We did sing and have homemade brownies. Also he got a well needed new wallet and watch. HAPPY BIRTHDAY! We love you!
